Potato Schnitzel

This unusual side dish of potato is a sliced boiled unpeeled potatoes fried in dough. It can be served with fish, meat or as a separate dish with sour cream or sauce. To prepare potato schnitzel, we'll take :

  • 8 potatoes
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 0.5 tbsp. light beer
  • 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil for dough + oil for frying
  • protein of one egg
  • mustard, salt - to taste

Mix the dough from flour, beer, 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil and salt. Let the dough come up for half an hour, add whipped protein. We boil potatoes in a uniform, let it cool. We clean and cut into slices approximately half a centimeter thick. We smear each slice with mustard on both sides, salt and dip into the dough. Fry the preheated oil until brown.

Potato cakes «Countess»

Very original side dish of potatoes is tender cakes from mashed potatoes. Beautiful, simple, tasty and unusual! For their preparation we will need :

  • 900 g of loose potatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 0.25 tbsp. oily cream
  • 2 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan
  • 0,25 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
  • pepper, salt — to taste

We peel the potatoes, cut them and boil them until they are ready. We merge the water and heat the potatoes on high heat for 1-2 minutes, periodically shaking it in a saucepan.

Beat 2 eggs with parmesan, cream, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Potatoes are well kneaded and add a creamy-egg mixture. Thoroughly mix everything until we get a smooth homogeneous mass. Cool in the refrigerator for 20-40 minutes (until the mass thickens).

Then we shift the potato mass into a confectionery bag with a nozzle in the form of an asterisk. We set the cakes on the greased baking sheet. We beat the yolk with a pinch of salt and carefully grease them with cakes. Bake for 15-20 minutes (before rouge) in the oven, heated to 180 °. We serve hot.
