Alginate masks for face made from brown algae containing alginic acid  (thanks to which, as you can guess, the mask and got its name). Brown algae (which include, by the way, kelp, more commonly known as sea kale) are valued for their useful properties, which are due, among other things, to the high content of alginic acid in them.

Alginic acid and its derivatives (alginates) are widely used in the food industry as thickeners and stabilizers, in medicine as an antacid. In addition, alginic acid and alginates can rid the body of radionuclides and heavy metals. And in cosmetology alginic acid and its salts used for the preparation of professional cosmetics  for the face and body.

Alginic acid and alginates have the ability to bind a large number of water molecules. This ability allows you to gel-like substance of alginic acid, water and dissolved nutrients  (vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc.). This gel has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, it moistens, nourishes, strengthens and tightens the skin.

Alginate mask suitable for any skin type. They contribute to the conservation of moisture, have a lifting effect, strengthen collagen fibers, removed from the body of heavy metals, promote flowing in the skin metabolic processes and regeneration processes. Thus, alginate masks allow :

However, it is realistic to do alginate mask at home. Usually such masks are sold in the form of a powder, which is diluted with water. Let's take a closer look at the procedure for applying the alginate mask.

First, thoroughly cleanse the skin and apply a little greasy cream on the eyebrows. If you use serum or an emulsion for the face, you can apply it under the mask -alginate mask enhances the effect of the damage under her cosmetics .

Immediately before use, dissolve powder alginate mask with water at room temperature in the ratio of 1 to 1 and quickly and carefully stir to avoid lumps.
